The town is named after Robert Owen who established major social reforms within the mill town of New Lanark in the early nineteenth century … and whose principles will form the basis of the way Owenstown will be run by its residents.

The launch to the local and national media also took place within New Lanark and the resulting coverage has attracted a great deal of interest. It’s expected that the exhibition, which runs from September 1st to 3rd in the Robert Owen Room of the New Lanark Mill Hotel, will prove popular. You can register at www.owenstown.org
